CU-30101

CU-30101 is a topical local anesthetic cream formulation containing a combination of lidocaine and tetracaine. Developed by Cutia Therapeutics through its subsidiary Codexis Biopharmaceuticals (Wuxi), it is designed to provide local anesthesia for superficial dermatological procedures, such as facial fractional laser cosmetic treatments. The product utilizes the synergistic effects of lidocaine, an amide-type local anesthetic, and tetracaine, an ester-type local anesthetic, to block voltage-gated sodium channels in neuronal membranes. This blockade inhibits the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses, thereby reducing procedure-related pain. CU-30101 is currently in Phase 3 clinical development in China, where it is being evaluated for efficacy and safety in comparison to the reference product Pliaglis.
