Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cu-FBP8 (also known as [64Cu]FBP8) is a novel fibrin-targeted radiopharmaceutical developed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. It consists of a cyclic disulfide peptide (FBP8) with high affinity and specificity for fibrin, conjugated to a copper-64 (64Cu) radioisotope via a chelator (such as NODAGA). By selectively binding to fibrin, a major component of blood clots and pathological tissue deposits, Cu-FBP8 enables the non-invasive detection and characterization of arterial and venous thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, left atrial appendage thrombi, and pathological fibrin deposition in diseases like multiple sclerosis and cardiac amyloidosis.
