Overview

CUE-501 is a preclinical, bispecific biologic drug candidate developed for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. It is designed to selectively deplete B cells by binding to a B cell-specific membrane protein (notably CD19) while simultaneously engaging virus-specific memory cytotoxic T cells, particularly those specific for cytomegalovirus (CMV). This targeted approach redirects the patient’s own anti-viral memory killer T cells to eliminate pathogenic B cells, aiming to reduce autoimmune and inflammatory responses with greater selectivity and safety compared to existing broad B cell depletion therapies. The drug leverages Cue Biopharma’s proprietary Immuno-STAT platform technology, which enables selective engagement of disease-relevant immune cell populations. CUE-501 is being advanced through a strategic collaboration between Cue Biopharma and Boehringer Ingelheim[1][2][5][6][7][9].
