Overview

CuET + ICG is an experimental combination therapy that pairs **copper diethyldithiocarbamate (CuET)**, a bioactive copper complex, with **indocyanine green (ICG)**, a clinically approved near-infrared fluorescent dye. This formulation is explored for **photodynamic antimicrobial chemotherapy (PACT)**, leveraging ICG's ability to act as a photosensitizer, generating reactive oxygen species under laser/light exposure to kill bacteria, with CuET potentially enhancing antibacterial effects. The combination aims to improve sterilization and biofilm disruption against resistant pathogens, notably in diabetic foot infections.
