Overview

Cumin is a natural product and herbal medicine derived from the plant Cuminum cyminum. It is widely used as a spice and in traditional medicine. Studies indicate that Cumin possesses anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antiseptic, antimicrobial, and antibacterial properties. It has been investigated for its efficacy in improving oral health by acting as an anti-plaque and anti-gingivitis agent, and for its potential in weight management by reducing anthropometric indices such as body weight, BMI, waist circumference, and fat mass. Additionally, Cumin has shown promise in improving cardiometabolic responses, glucose and lipid metabolism, and in attenuating postprandial endothelial impairment and triglyceride levels.
