Cunermuspir, also known as Copper (I) Niacin or Cu(I)NA2, is a proprietary small-molecule chelate compound developed by MitoSynergy. It consists of a cuprous (Copper I) nicotinic acid complex designed to deliver monovalent copper directly into human cells, a form MitoSynergy claims is more bioavailable than the standard Copper (II) found in most supplements. The compound is intended to support mitochondrial energy metabolism by participating in ATP cycling and neuromuscular function. Cunermuspir has been evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for the treatment of neuralgia and myalgia, focusing on improvements in energy, strength, and quality of life. Although it has undergone clinical testing for therapeutic indications, it is currently marketed as a dietary supplement under the brand name MitoSynergy following a 'no objections' letter from the FDA regarding its status as a New Dietary Ingredient (NDI).
