CurcuEmulsome is a nanoparticle-based formulation of curcumin, a natural polyphenol extracted from turmeric (*Curcuma longa*). This formulation utilizes emulsomes—lipid-based nanocarriers characterized by a solid lipid core stabilized by phospholipid bilayers—to improve the aqueous solubility, stability, and bioavailability of curcumin. Curcumin exerts its anticancer effects through pleiotropic mechanisms, including the inhibition of the NF-kappaB signaling pathway, downregulation of the androgen receptor, and induction of apoptosis via caspase activation. CurcuEmulsome is specifically being investigated for its enhanced therapeutic efficacy in treating androgen-dependent prostate cancer, where it demonstrates superior cellular uptake and cytotoxicity compared to free curcumin in preclinical models.
