Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Curcuminoids C3 Complex is a patented, standardized extract derived from the rhizome of turmeric (Curcuma longa), containing a defined mixture of three major curcuminoids: curcumin, demethoxycurcumin, and bisdemethoxycurcumin. It is formulated to contain 95% total curcuminoids and is often combined with BioPerine (piperine) to enhance absorption and bioavailability[1][4]. The primary mechanisms of action are antioxidant activity—scavenging free radicals—and anti-inflammatory effects through inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) and lipoxygenase (LOX) enzymes involved in the arachidonic acid pathway[4]. Preclinical studies show antineoplastic activity via induction of apoptosis in cancer cells[2], while clinical trials suggest benefits for joint health, physical function in older adults with low-grade inflammation, support for liver health, and potential improvement in chronic plaque psoriasis[5][6][8]. Developed by Sabinsa Corporation as a dietary supplement ingredient.
