Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Curenext is a topical gel formulation containing curcumin, the primary bioactive polyphenol extracted from turmeric (*Curcuma longa*). Developed as an adjunctive treatment for chronic periodontitis, it is applied to periodontal pockets following scaling and root planing (SRP). Curcumin exhibits a multi-faceted mechanism of action, including potent antioxidant properties that neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS), anti-inflammatory effects through the inhibition of NF-kappaB and COX-2 pathways, and broad-spectrum antibacterial activity. By reducing oxidative stress and modulating the host immune response, Curenext helps to limit tissue destruction and promote periodontal healing.
