Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Curepeptin is a chemically synthesized antimicrobial peptide composed of natural amino acids. It exerts its effect by disrupting bacterial cell membranes, leading to broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity. Notably, Curepeptin has demonstrated effectiveness against drug-resistant bacteria such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter, and NDM-1-producing bacteria. The drug is being developed as a novel therapeutic option for infections caused by resistant pathogens[1].
