Curodont Protect is a professional dental remineralization gel developed by vVARDIS (formerly Credentis). It is based on the proprietary P11-4 technology, which utilizes a synthetic, self-assembling peptide (Ace-Gln-Gln-Arg-Phe-Glu-Trp-Glu-Phe-Glu-Gln-Gln-NH2). When applied topically to the teeth, the P11-4 monomers diffuse into the enamel and, triggered by the high ionic strength of the tooth environment, self-assemble into a three-dimensional fibrillar scaffold. This scaffold mimics the natural enamel matrix and serves as a template for the deposition of calcium and phosphate ions from saliva, leading to the formation of new hydroxyapatite crystals. This process, known as Guided Enamel Regeneration (GER), helps to strengthen enamel, treat early-stage caries (white spot lesions), and reduce tooth sensitivity by occluding dentinal tubules.
