Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CURT-001 is a FLAG-tagged autologous anti-mesothelin chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Currus Biologics. It is designed to target mesothelin, a cell-surface glycoprotein overexpressed in various solid tumors, including mesothelioma, pancreatic, ovarian, and lung cancers. CURT-001 is developed as a component of the combination program CUR-001, which pairs CURT-001 with CURB-001, a bispecific antibody from Currus' BEAT (Bispecific Engagers of Antigen Presenting Cells and T cells) platform. This combination is designed to activate and expand the CAR T-cells in lymphoid tissue by engaging both the CAR T-cells and professional antigen-presenting cells, thereby overcoming the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. The FDA cleared the IND application for the CUR-001 combination in September 2026, enabling a Phase 1 basket trial for mesothelin-positive advanced refractory solid tumors.
