Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Floré is a brand of customized probiotics and prebiotics (synbiotics) being studied for its potential to alleviate symptoms associated with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). [7] Developed by Sun Genomics (now operating as Flore Inc. or Flore Clinical), the product is tailored to an individual's unique gut microbiome profile, which is determined through whole-genome sequencing of a stool sample. [7, 8, 9] The formulation aims to modulate the gut-brain axis by introducing specific beneficial bacteria, thereby improving gastrointestinal issues, metabolic function, and ASD-related symptoms like mood, focus, and language skills. [1, 2, 3] An open-label study in partnership with Arizona State University showed that a three-month regimen resulted in improved GI symptoms and increased gut microbiome diversity. [4, 7] Following the study, Floré launched specific product lines, including 'Pathways Support' and 'Mood Support', which are marketed as dietary supplements and have not been evaluated by the FDA to treat or cure any disease.
