Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CUT-02 is a patented, proprietary precision endolysin enzyme developed by Hypothesis for the treatment of acne vulgaris. Unlike conventional broad-spectrum acne treatments (such as benzoyl peroxide or topical antibiotics) that indiscriminately eliminate both harmful and beneficial skin bacteria, CUT-02 is engineered to selectively target and degrade the cell walls of Cutibacterium acnes (C. acnes) without disrupting the surrounding skin microbiome. By preserving beneficial skin flora, CUT-02 helps restore long-term microbiome balance and reduces acne-associated inflammation, redness, and breakouts. It is formulated as the active component in topical skincare products, including serums, clarifying sprays, and microdart blemish patches, offering a highly tolerated, non-irritating alternative to traditional therapies.
