CV-1238

CV-1238 is a novel, potent, brain-penetrant, and phosphodiesterase 4D (PDE4D)-sparing phosphodiesterase 4B (PDE4B) inhibitor developed by Cerevel Therapeutics (now a subsidiary of AbbVie). It is designed to selectively target the PDE4B isoform to avoid the gastrointestinal side effects, such as nausea and emesis, typically associated with non-selective PDE4 inhibitors, which are primarily driven by PDE4D inhibition. In preclinical models, CV-1238 has demonstrated both anti-depressant and anti-psychotic properties, as well as potent anti-inflammatory activity, suggesting potential therapeutic utility in psychiatric indications such as major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder.
