Overview

CV-MG01, also known as Myasterix, is a therapeutic vaccine developed for the treatment of myasthenia gravis (MG), an autoimmune neuromuscular disorder. The drug consists of two synthetic peptides designed to mimic specific regions of the acetylcholine receptor (AChR) protein. These peptides stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies that neutralize pathogenic anti-AChR autoantibodies and bind to T-cell receptors involved in their production. By reducing both existing and new anti-AChR autoantibodies, CV-MG01 aims to restore nerve-muscle communication and alleviate MG symptoms. Preclinical studies demonstrated efficacy in animal models, but clinical development was discontinued after incomplete enrollment in a Phase 2/3 trial[2][4][5].
