Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CV0601 is a monovalent, modified mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of COVID-19. It encodes the spike protein of the Omicron BA.4-5 variant of SARS-CoV-2 and is designed as a booster to induce strong neutralizing antibody responses against this variant. In Phase 2 clinical trials, CV0601 demonstrated robust immunogenicity, with a 5-fold increase in neutralizing antibodies against Omicron BA.4-5 at day 29 post-booster, surpassing comparator bivalent mRNA vaccines. The vaccine was generally well tolerated with a favorable safety profile. CV0601 is being developed by CureVac in collaboration with GSK[1][4][5][6].
