Overview

CV7202 is a prophylactic mRNA-based vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of rabies. It encodes the rabies virus glycoprotein (RABV-G) from the Pasteur strain and is formulated with next-generation lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) to enhance delivery and immunogenicity. The vaccine works by delivering mRNA that instructs host cells to produce the RABV-G protein, thereby stimulating both humoral and cellular immune responses, including strong antibody titers and B/T cell activation. CV7202 has been evaluated in phase 1 clinical trials for safety, reactogenicity, and immunogenicity in healthy adults. The developer aims to provide a simplified one- or two-shot regimen compared to traditional multi-dose rabies vaccines[1][2][3][5].
