Overview

CV9103 is an investigational therapeutic cancer vaccine developed using self-adjuvanted messenger RNA (mRNA) technology (RNActive) by CureVac. It encodes full-length mRNAs for four antigens commonly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells—prostate-specific antigen (PSA), prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), prostate stem cell antigen (PSCA), and six-transmembrane epithelial antigen of the prostate 1 (STEAP1). The vaccine is designed to stimulate both T-cell and B-cell immune responses against these tumor-associated antigens, aiming to induce a broad and robust anti-tumor immunity. Clinical studies have shown that CV9103 is well tolerated with high immunogenicity in patients with advanced or metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. Its mechanism involves intradermal administration of the mRNA complexed with protamine to enhance immune activation[1][2][5][6].
