Overview

CV9201 is an investigational mRNA-based cancer immunotherapy developed for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It utilizes CureVac's RNActive technology and encodes five full-length, unmodified mRNAs corresponding to tumor-associated antigens relevant in NSCLC oncogenesis and immune recognition. The encoded antigens are New York esophageal squamous cell carcinoma-1 (NY-ESO-1), melanoma antigen family C1 (MAGE-C1), melanoma antigen family C2 (MAGE-C2), survivin, and trophoblast glycoprotein (5T4). Upon intradermal administration, CV9201 is designed to stimulate the immune system to mount cytotoxic T-cell responses and induce antigen-specific antibodies against these tumor antigens. Clinical studies have shown that it is well-tolerated with mostly mild-to-moderate adverse events such as injection site reactions and flu-like symptoms. Immune responses were detected in a majority of evaluable patients after treatment[2][6][7].
