Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CVCO-701 is a drug developed by Epizon Pharma (a subsidiary of CVCO Therapeutics) to address accelerated cardiovascular calcification, a major unmet need affecting nearly all kidney disease, diabetic, and pre-diabetic patients. The drug enhances nitric oxide mobilization and has demonstrated strong activation of cancer cell death in multiple cell lines. In a Phase 2 trial in dialysis patients, CVCO-701 restored calcification inhibitor protein levels to those seen in healthy individuals, with no reported side effects. The drug also shows potential benefits in COPD by inhibiting lung elastin degradation.
