Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CVG201 Lead 3 is a small molecule inhibitor of BET (Bromodomain and Extra-Terminal motif) proteins currently in preclinical development by ConverGene. As part of the CVG201 internal development program, Lead 3 is specifically being optimized for the treatment of orphan indications. BET proteins act as epigenetic readers that recognize acetylated lysine residues on histones, thereby recruiting transcription factors to regulate the expression of genes associated with cell growth and survival. By targeting these bromodomains, CVG201 Lead 3 aims to disrupt aberrant transcriptional programs underlying rare diseases.
