CVI-HBV-002

**CVI-HBV-002** is an investigational recombinant protein hepatitis B vaccine developed by CHA Vaccine Institute for both prophylactic immunization against hepatitis B and therapeutic immunomodulation in chronic hepatitis B. It contains the third-generation large hepatitis B surface antigen L-HBsAg and the L-pampo adjuvant, which activates Toll-like receptor pathways to promote antigen-specific humoral and cellular immune responses. In a completed Phase 2b study in tenofovir-treated chronic hepatitis B, the candidate increased HBV-specific T-cell responses but did not achieve a statistically significant reduction in hepatitis B surface antigen versus placebo.
