CVT-130 is a first-in-class small molecule **metabolic modulator** being developed for the prevention of **anthracycline-related cardiotoxicity**. Its mechanism centers on protecting cardiac cells from injury induced by anthracycline chemotherapies (such as doxorubicin, epirubicin, daunorubicin), without compromising the anti-tumor efficacy of these agents. This compound aims to enable both safer use and potential retreatment with anthracyclines in cancer patients whose therapy might otherwise be limited by cumulative, dose-dependent heart toxicity.
