CVT-TCR-01 is an autologous T-cell receptor engineered T-cell (TCR-T) therapy being developed by Cytovant Sciences for the treatment of solid tumors. The therapy involves genetically modifying a patient's T cells to express a specific T-cell receptor that recognizes the NY-ESO-1 cancer-testis antigen. Unlike many Western TCR-T programs that target the HLA-A*02:01 allele, CVT-TCR-01 is specifically designed to target HLA alleles that are highly prevalent in Asian populations, aiming to address the solid tumor burden in these regions. As a cell-based biologic modality, it leverages the patient's own immune system to identify and eliminate tumor cells expressing the intracellular NY-ESO-1 antigen.
