Overview

CVT12011965 (also known as CVT120165) is an oral, intestinal-targeted formulation of vorapaxar being developed by CVasThera for the treatment of Crohn's disease. Vorapaxar is a small molecule antagonist of protease-activated receptor-1 (PAR-1). While vorapaxar was originally developed for cardiovascular indications, CVasThera has engineered a specialized galenic formulation designed for localized delivery to the gut mucosa. This formulation features mucus-adhesive properties to promote tissue repair and mucosal healing directly at the site of inflammation in the gastrointestinal tract. The drug has completed Phase I safety assessments and was planned for Phase II pilot studies in Crohn's disease patients.
