Overview

CVX-241 is a bispecific antibody fusion protein designed to simultaneously bind and inhibit both vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and angiopoietin-2 (Ang2), two key mediators of tumor angiogenesis. The molecule consists of antiangiogenic peptides targeting VEGF and Ang2 covalently attached to the Fab arms of a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody using CovX technology. By blocking the interactions of VEGF with its receptor VEGFR2 and Ang2 with its receptor Tie2, CVX-241 inhibits angiogenic signaling pathways essential for tumor vascularization and growth. Preclinical studies demonstrated potent anti-tumor activity in xenograft models, both as monotherapy and in combination with chemotherapy. CVX-241 was developed primarily for advanced solid tumors but clinical development was discontinued after phase 1 trials due to unclear efficacy[1][4][5][6][7][8].
