CX-011

CX-011 is a novel investigational small molecule drug that acts as a modulator of the interleukin-6 receptor subunit beta (IL6RB), also known as glycoprotein 130 (gp130). It is being developed as a disease-modifying therapy for osteoarthritis and related inflammatory joint disorders. CX-011 works by suppressing a specific signaling pathway within the gp130 receptor, thereby dampening pathological inflammation and abnormal tissue remodeling while allowing essential immune functions to continue. Preclinical animal studies have demonstrated that CX-011 reduces joint pain, mitigates cartilage and bone damage, and limits synovial inflammation in models of osteoarthritis.
