Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CX-801 is a dually masked, conditionally activated interferon alpha-2b (IFNα2b) Probody cytokine developed by CytomX Therapeutics. It is designed to harness the immune-stimulating and anti-cancer properties of interferon alpha-2b while minimizing systemic toxicities by localizing its activity within tumors. The masking technology enables targeted activation in the tumor microenvironment, potentially improving tolerability and efficacy compared to unmodified IFNα2b. CX-801 is being evaluated as both monotherapy and in combination with pembrolizumab (an anti-PD1 checkpoint inhibitor) for advanced solid tumors, including metastatic melanoma, renal cell carcinoma, and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma[1][3][5][8].
