Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CX16 is a preclinical-stage small molecule molecular glue being developed by Hangzhou Bangshun Pharmaceutical (Biosun Pharma). It specifically targets VAV1, a guanine nucleotide exchange factor that is a key signaling protein in immune cells, for the treatment of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and multiple sclerosis (MS). As a molecular glue, CX16 is designed to modulate or induce the degradation of VAV1, which plays a critical role in T-cell and B-cell receptor signaling and activation. The program is currently in preclinical development, with an IND submission anticipated in 2027.
