Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CX3002 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody that targets Coagulation Factor XI (FXI), currently under development by Chengdu Yuandong Biological Pharmaceutical. It is primarily being investigated for the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism (VTE), including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), particularly in patients undergoing major orthopedic procedures such as total knee arthroplasty. The mechanism of action involves the selective inhibition of FXI, a key component of the intrinsic coagulation pathway. By targeting FXI, CX3002 aims to decouple pathological thrombus formation from normal hemostasis, potentially offering a therapeutic window that significantly reduces the risk of major bleeding compared to traditional anticoagulants like heparin or warfarin. The drug is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development in China.
