CXCL10-siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic candidate designed to silence the expression of the chemokine CXCL10 (IP-10). In epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC), particularly in PD-L1-negative and BRCA2-wild type tumors, CXCL10 is upregulated and plays a critical role in immune evasion by promoting the infiltration and activation of FOXP3+ regulatory T cells (Tregs). Research from Yale University indicates that silencing CXCL10 using siRNA can reduce Treg-mediated immunosuppression, increase IFNγ production, and restore the activity of CD8+ effector and CD4+ helper T cells. This approach is being explored as a novel immunotherapy to overcome resistance and improve outcomes in ovarian cancer patients.
