CXCR2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the C-X-C motif chemokine receptor 2 (CXCR2), also known as IL8RB. CXCR2 is a G protein-coupled receptor that mediates the effects of pro-inflammatory chemokines such as CXCL8 (IL-8) and CXCL5, which are implicated in tumor cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and the induction of fibrosis. In pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), CXCR2 is frequently overexpressed in both the tumor cells and the surrounding fibrotic stroma. By utilizing the RNA interference (RNAi) pathway, CXCR2 siRNA targets CXCR2 mRNA for sequence-specific degradation, thereby reducing protein expression. Preclinical research has demonstrated that knockdown of CXCR2 using this siRNA can inhibit tumor cell growth and potentially weaken the protective fibrotic stroma, making it a viable target for therapeutic intervention in pancreatic cancer.
