CXCR7 antibody refers to a class of monoclonal antibodies designed to target the C-X-C chemokine receptor type 7 (CXCR7), also known as Atypical Chemokine Receptor 3 (ACKR3). CXCR7 is a non-canonical G protein-coupled receptor that binds with high affinity to the chemokines CXCL12 (SDF-1) and CXCL11 (I-TAC). Unlike typical chemokine receptors, CXCR7 primarily acts as a scavenger or decoy receptor to regulate chemokine gradients, although it can also signal through beta-arrestin pathways. In oncology, CXCR7 is frequently overexpressed in various malignancies, including colorectal carcinoma, where its upregulation correlates with advanced TNM stage, lymphovascular tumor emboli, and lymph node metastasis. CXCR7 antibodies are being investigated as therapeutic agents to inhibit tumor cell proliferation, survival, and metastasis by blocking these pro-tumorigenic pathways. While widely utilized as research tools for immunohistochemistry (IHC) to evaluate receptor expression in clinical specimens, they represent a potential molecular target for novel anticancer therapies.
