CY-09 is a **selective small-molecule inhibitor of the NLRP3 inflammasome** originally reported by researchers at the University of Science and Technology of China. It directly binds the ATP-binding motif within the NACHT domain of NLRP3, inhibits NLRP3 ATPase activity, and blocks inflammasome assembly and activation, thereby suppressing downstream inflammatory signaling and IL-1β maturation. Preclinically, CY-09 showed activity in mouse models of cryopyrin-associated autoinflammatory syndrome, type 2 diabetes, diabetic nephropathy, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and myocardial infarction. It appears to be a research-stage tool compound rather than an approved therapeutic product, with no evidence of marketed status for human use.
