CY-219 is an investigational chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy targeting the CD19 antigen, a protein expressed on the surface of B-cell lineage cells. Developed by the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital at the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, CY-219 is designed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory B-cell malignancies, including B-cell lymphoma. The therapy involves the genetic modification of autologous T cells to express a CAR that specifically recognizes CD19-positive cells, leading to targeted cytotoxicity against malignant B cells. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I clinical trials to assess its safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy in adult patients.
