Overview

Cy5-bis-P0101-125 is a dimeric fluorescent peptide tracer developed by the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) for intraoperative nerve visualization during nerve-sparing surgery. It specifically targets myelin protein zero (P0), the most abundant protein in peripheral myelin. By dimerizing the homotypic P0 protein-based peptide sequence P0101-125 using a bifunctional Cy5 fluorescent dye, Cy5-bis-P0101-125 achieves enhanced binding affinity and fluorescence intensity compared to its monomeric counterpart, facilitating real-time fluorescence-guided surgical interventions to prevent accidental nerve damage.
