Cyanobacterial extract L19-A is a research-stage aqueous extract derived from the cyanobacterial strain *Nodularia* HAN 37/1, which was isolated from green biofilms in Hanko, Finland. Identified in a 2014 study published in *Marine Drugs*, the extract demonstrates potent pro-apoptotic activity against acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines, including IPC-81 and Molm-13, with an EC50 of approximately 2.4 µg/mL. Notably, L19-A exhibits selectivity for leukemic cells over normal human embryonic kidney (HEK293T) cells and appears to induce cell death independently of p53 and Bcl-2 status. It is currently utilized as a laboratory tool for investigating novel apoptogens and does not have a commercial developer or identified single active pharmaceutical ingredient.
