Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cyanobacterial extract L30-A is an aqueous extract derived from the *Nostoc* cyanobacterial strain 113.5, a lichen symbiont associated with *Nephroma arcticum* collected in Finland. Identified in academic research, this extract acts as a potent apoptosis-inducing agent, capable of inducing cell death in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines, including rat IPC-81 and human MOLM-13 cells. Notably, L30-A demonstrates the ability to overcome chemoresistance associated with Bcl-2 overexpression and p53 mutations, suggesting its mechanism involves direct activation of the apoptotic machinery. It is currently a research-stage natural product extract with no isolated single active ingredient or commercial developer identified.
