Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Vitamin B12 + avocado oil is a topical cream formulation developed for the treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. The product was originally marketed as Regividerm by Regeneratio Pharma and later renamed to Mavena B12 Salbe; it is currently available as Regeneratio B12 Salbe. The active ingredients are cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12) and avocado oil. The formulation functions as a nitric oxide scavenger, where vitamin B12 neutralizes nitric oxide radicals to reduce nitrosative stress and skin inflammation. Avocado oil acts as both a delivery vehicle and an anti-inflammatory agent. Clinical trials have shown the cream to be as effective as the vitamin D3 analog calcipotriol in treating chronic plaque psoriasis over 12 weeks, with significantly better tolerability and less skin irritation.
