Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cybis is a medical cannabis oil formulation developed by Cymra Life Sciences, containing a standardized ratio of 10 mg/mL delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and 25 mg/mL cannabidiol (CBD). It is primarily investigated for the management of chronic pain conditions, specifically chronic back and neck pain. The therapeutic effect is mediated through the modulation of the endocannabinoid system; THC acts as a partial agonist at cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, which are involved in pain signaling and psychoactive effects. CBD has a more complex pharmacology, acting as an agonist at 5-HT1A receptors and a modulator of TRPV1 channels, which contributes to its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties while potentially mitigating some of the side effects associated with THC.
