Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CybroCell is a fibroblast-based cell therapy developed by FibroBiologics. It is specifically being developed for the treatment of degenerative disc disease (DDD). This investigational therapy utilizes allogeneic human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) delivered via intradiscal injections. Preclinical and early clinical data suggest that CybroCell can initiate a regenerative process in the intervertebral discs, leading to increased regeneration, disc height, and expression of structural genes like collagen type I and II, as well as proteoglycan content. This mechanism aims to reduce pain and improve back mobility in patients suffering from DDD. Fibroblasts also contribute to immune modulation and tissue remodeling.
