CYCART-19 is an **off-the-shelf, allogeneic, placental-derived CAR-T cell therapy** engineered to target the **CD19 receptor**, primarily developed for the treatment of B-cell malignancies such as various forms of lymphoma. Unlike autologous CAR-T products, CYCART-19 utilizes T cells derived from placental tissue, which are then cryopreserved and modified with a chimeric antigen receptor against CD19. This design potentially allows for immediate availability for patients, improved scalability, and reduced cytokine release syndrome compared to PBMC-derived CAR-T therapies. Preclinical data suggest effective cytolytic activity against CD19-expressing tumor cells, with development also underway to combine CYCART-19 with novel oncolytic virus strategies to treat solid tumors by inducing CD19 surface expression in those tumor cells[1][4][6][7][10].
