Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CyclAGel is an innovative ophthalmic hydrogel formulation of cyclosporine A (0.05%) developed by Zhaoke Ophthalmology for the treatment of moderate to severe dry eye disease (keratoconjunctivitis sicca). As a small molecule immunosuppressant, it targets inflammatory pathways involved in the pathogenesis of dry eye. The proprietary hydrogel formulation is designed to provide a superior pharmacokinetic profile compared to traditional emulsions like Restasis, enabling once-daily (QD) nocturnal administration. In the Phase III COSMO trial, CyclAGel demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in the inferior fluorescein corneal staining score (ICSS) compared to a vehicle control.
