Overview

Cyclin b1 peptide is a synthetic peptide derived from the cell cycle regulator protein cyclin B1. It is primarily used as an immunotherapeutic agent in cancer research and clinical trials, often as part of a dendritic cell vaccine platform. Cyclin B1 is overexpressed in various tumor cells and plays a critical role in regulating the G2/M transition during cell division. By pulsing autologous dendritic cells with cyclin B1 peptides, these vaccines aim to stimulate cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses against tumor cells expressing high levels of cyclin B1, thereby promoting anti-tumor immunity[1][2][8]. The mechanism of action involves presenting the cyclin B1 epitope to T-cells via major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules on dendritic cells, leading to targeted immune-mediated destruction of cancer cells.
