Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of cyclophosphamide (an alkylating agent), doxorubicin (an anthracycline antibiotic), and sargramostim (GM-CSF, a colony stimulating factor). Cyclophosphamide and doxorubicin work by damaging DNA in cancer cells, preventing them from dividing and replicating. Sargramostim stimulates the production of white blood cells to counteract chemotherapy-induced neutropenia. This combination is primarily used in the treatment of breast cancer.
