This drug is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of three active agents: - Cyclophosphamide, an alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication and RNA transcription by cross-linking DNA strands. - Doxorubicin, an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates into DNA, inhibits topoisomerase II, and generates free radicals causing DNA damage. - Vinorelbine, a vinca alkaloid that inhibits microtubule assembly leading to mitotic arrest. The combination is used primarily in the treatment of advanced or recurrent breast cancer. Clinical studies have shown this regimen to be effective with acceptable toxicity profiles. It has been studied in phase I-II trials to determine dosing schedules and maximum tolerated doses. The combination aims to leverage different mechanisms of action for synergistic antineoplastic effects.
