Overview

This is a multi-agent chemotherapy and targeted therapy regimen used primarily for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. The combination includes: - Cyclophosphamide (an alkylating agent that interferes with DNA replication) - Epirubicin (an anthracycline antibiotic that intercalates DNA and inhibits topoisomerase II) - Paclitaxel (a taxane that stabilizes microtubules, inhibiting cell division) - Pertuzumab and trastuzumab (monoclonal antibodies targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 [HER2], blocking its signaling and inducing antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity). This regimen is typically used in neoadjuvant or adjuvant settings for early, locally advanced, or metastatic HER2-positive breast cancer. The addition of pertuzumab and trastuzumab provides dual HER2 blockade, which has been shown to improve pathological complete response rates compared to chemotherapy alone or single-agent anti-HER2 therapy[1][2][5][6].
