This is a combination of three immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory drugs—cyclosporine, prednisone, and triamcinolone. Cyclosporine is a calcineurin inhibitor that suppresses T cell activation by inhibiting the phosphatase activity of calcineurin, thereby reducing cytokine production (notably IL-2) and immune response[7][6]. Prednisone and triamcinolone are synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroids that act as anti-inflammatory agents by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor, modulating gene expression to suppress pro-inflammatory cytokines and immune cell activity. This combination may be used in severe or refractory autoimmune or inflammatory conditions where monotherapy is insufficient; however, it is not a standard fixed-dose commercial product but rather an off-label or protocol-driven regimen for specific clinical scenarios such as steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome or other severe autoimmune diseases[1][3]. The use of multiple immunosuppressants increases efficacy but also risk for adverse effects.
