Overview

Cycol Syrup is a combination pharmaceutical medication primarily used as an appetite stimulant to address conditions such as loss of appetite (anorexia), malnutrition, and unintended weight loss. It also serves as an adjuvant in antiretroviral and anti-tubercular treatments to promote weight gain. Additionally, it is indicated for the management of various allergic conditions, including allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis, mild skin allergies, and reactions to blood or plasma products. The syrup's active ingredients include Cyproheptadine, an antihistamine with antiserotonergic properties that stimulates appetite by blocking serotonin and histamine H1 receptors. Tricholine Citrate, a lipotropic agent, supports liver function, aids in fat metabolism, and promotes the digestion and absorption of fats and proteins. Sorbitol is included as a syrup base and functions as an osmotic laxative to alleviate constipation, a potential side effect.
